For producers
Drink less, better and more often! Bring your wines to Norway with one of the leading wine importers – since 1997.
Vinhuset NoFra AS
Vinhuset NoFra AS was established in February 1997 by Nicolas Mahé de Berdouaré. We specialize in quality wines and “best buy” wines from family producers.
We are the market leader in sales of rosé wine, sweet wine and Bordeaux wines. We sell 92 % to the Norwegian wine monopoly and 8 % to duty-free and off-trade.
We work in long-term relationships with our suppliers – Champagne Drappier, Domaine de Chevalier, Domaine Montrose (Languedoc), Alphonse Mellot (Sancerre), Château de la Gardine (Rhône) and many more.

The Norwegian wine market
The right way to sell your wine to Norway:
1
Private consumers through the Norwegian wine monopoly
2
Duty-free directly, Svalbard and embassies
3
Off-trade customers through wholesalers, HORECA
The logistics partner
Norwegian importers can choose between different logistics partners: Cuveco, Vectura, Scanlog (ex VSD), Trébuchet and others. Cuveco and Vectura are the two biggest.
We have been in co-operation with Cuveco since 2004. Cuveco is responsible for the import to Norway, from the producers to all our Norwegian customers, all over Norway – and delivers IT support, sale forecasts, stock reports, accounting, sale statistics, CRM and office programs.
Vinhuset NoFra focuses 100 % on the business side: choosing the right selection, increasing sales, good promotion and the marketing of your products. We travel all over Norway and attend tastings every week, all year – and twice a year we take part in the big tastings arranged by the wine monopoly.

The wine monopoly (Vinmonopolet)
The wine monopoly in Norway was established in 1922. Since 1 January 1996 the wine monopoly has not imported any bottles, but remains the sole distributor to private consumers.
With 332 outlets in the beginning of 2023, it covers large parts of Norway, divided into six categories – category 1 has the smallest outlets, and category 6 the largest, with 1 850 products. 34 000 different products are available in the “ordering” selection.
Four ways to sell wine to the wine monopoly
1. Tenders
Six times a year, tenders can be delivered to the wine monopoly – for the “one lot sale” or the “basic selection”.
2. Test selection
We can choose one product for a test launch every second year.
3. Ordering selection
Around 34 000 products available for ordering (January 2023).
4. Special selection
Twelve dedicated shops across Norway (January 2023).
